The Development Banking Community of Practice organizes the webinar “International Experiences of Aligning Public Development Banking to Global Sustainability and Economic Development Initiatives” to be held on September 11 at 10 am (Lima time).

Development Banking in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) is committed to and plays a critical role in the sustainable, inclusive and resilient development of the region.

To contribute to these efforts, ALIDE promotes the adoption of methodologies and tools to align the operation of its member institutions to the main global economic development initiatives.

This Webinar will share the success case on the methodologies implemented by the Brazilian development bank -through the Association of Development Banks of Brazil- to positively integrate the SDGs into its strategy and operations, with the intention that its main elements can be taken into account and / or replicated by other institutions in the region.

On the other hand, the second part of the Webinar will present some cases on the development and alignment with green and social taxonomies. Green taxonomies provide a standardized framework to focus development banking efforts in areas with economic impact, promote transparency, guide investment decisions, facilitate access to green finance and promote innovation. By adopting them, development institutions promote the development of a sustainable market and contribute to addressing climate challenges.
