Green bonds which finance projects with environmental benefits have passed the $1trillion dollar milestone for the amount issued since the first ever green bond in 2007. Fast growth in this market sector is driving unprecedented demand for skilled professionals and for targeted training in the fundamentals of the products and the application of the Green and Social Bond Principles, the foundation for green and social bond issuance.

ICMA’s popular foundation training course for the sustainable bond markets has helped bankers, regulators, asset managers and many other industry participants to broaden the understanding of the Principles and the underlying market structure, playing a tangible role in increasing the issuance of these bonds since 2017.

Led by market experts and featuring guest speakers, the course also covers external reviews and new product and market developments including the Sustainability-Linked Bond Principles and Climate Transition Finance Handbook as well as EU initiatives such as the EU Taxonomy and proposed EU Green Bond Standard.

The course will be delivered in a livestreamed format but it can also be taken in the online self-study version, which provides the same in-depth introduction to the GSS market.

Organizer: ICMA
