Sustainable finance has grown substantially in recent years, between 2007 and 2020 the total amount of green bonds issued worldwide accumulated USD1 trillion, while in 2021 alone more than USD500 billion will be issued, setting a new annual record.

At COP26, sustainable finance was present and became a key part of bridging the gap and helping to meet the Paris Agreement and the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). For developing countries, particularly, sustainable finance will be crucial. In recent years, Latin America and the Caribbean’s participation in sustainable finance has developed, however, it is still far from its potential. Further development of thematic bonds, hand in hand with DFIs (Development Financial Institutions) and MDBs (Multilateral Development Banks), will allow addressing the challenges of a changing world and could become the key for further development of regional sustainable finance leading to a green and inclusive recovery.

The following topics will be discussed during the Webinar:

-State of sustainable finance in LAC
-What Glasgow left us
-Perspective on Thematic Bonds 2022

Deadline for registration: Monday, May 2
