ALIDE, IDB and ECLAC presented the platform of the LAC Community of Practice on Development Banking

The Latin American Association of Development Finance Institutions (ALIDE), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) presented the information platform of the Community of Practice for Development Banks in Latin America and the Caribbean during the webinar Response to the COVID 19 crisis and challenges to boost economic recovery.

This financing and development banking platform will have topics related to gender, digitalisation, infrastructure, PPPs, projects, impact evaluation and measurement, results, and financial indicators. In addition, it is expected to share best practices and relevant information that will contribute to the development of the region.

The importance of the experience and data obtained during the pandemic is highlighted and the joint work of IDB, ALIDE and ECLAC allows the development of the Development Banking Community of Practice initiative.

The platform will also allow to learn about the challenges that may be faced in the future and to further strengthen development banking in the region.

During the webinar, the origin of the Development Banking Community of Practice and the study on Financing Development Banking in the context of the COVID-19 crisis in Latin America and the Caribbean were presented.

Finally, the document presented by ECLAC and the challenges and opportunities for Development Banking in the post-pandemic recovery were analysed.
