BCP from Peru makes the first issuance of green bonds from the Peruvian banking system
06/27/2022 Since 2 months

The Credit Bank of Peru (BCP) made the first green international issuance for an amount of 30 million dollars. This operation is part of the sustainability strategy of the holding Credicorp (to which BCP belongs), which seeks to contribute to creating more sustainable and inclusive economies through the financial system.

The funds will be used to finance environmentally friendly production plant projects. Amundi, a French firm, acquired 100% of the issuance through its Amundi Planet – Emerging Green One fund, launched in association with the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

BCP’s Sustainable Financing Framework was designed following the guidelines of the International Capital Markets Association (ICMA), the Green Bond Principles 2021 (GBP), the Social Bond Principles 2021 (SBP) and the Green Loan Principles 2021 (LPG).
