Brazil to advance urban and sustainable development in Linhares, Espírito Santo

Brazil has obtained a 56-million dollars loan from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) to promote urban development and sustainable land-use planning in Linhares, a municipality in the state of Espírito Santo that holds rich natural settings and major economic and tourism potential.
The loan will finance resilient urban infrastructure works such as road paving, water, basic sanitation, sustainable mobility, as well as the construction of new parks, public spaces, and sports and recreational areas. Consulting services will also be contracted to strengthen urban planning and socio-environmental risk management. The IDB loan has a repayment period of 24.5 years and a grace period of 6 years.
