CABEI promotes investments in adaptation to climate change in Salvadoran agricultural MSMEs
The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), through the CAMBio II Program (led by CABEI and the Green Climate Fund), has granted financing for an amount of 316 thousand dollars in order to boost the MSME sector in El Salvador.
The resources, channeled through Banco Atlántida, facilitated credit to small businesses in different sectors such as organic agriculture, sustainable fishing and silvopastoral systems. The proceeds will allow local MSMEs to implement fixed investments that will improve their capabilities to adapt to climate change through the adoption of sustainable technologies and practices, helping to protect natural resources and improve productivity in an environment increasingly affected by extreme weather events.
