CAF promotes a climate adaptation model in water basins in Ecuador

CAF (the development bank of Latin America and the Caribbean), the Ministry of Environment, Water and Ecological Transition (MAATE) of Ecuador and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) have signed a cooperation agreement with the aim of strengthening the adaptation capabilities of vulnerable populations, ecosystems and hydroelectric systems in the Rio Blanco upper basin, and additionally, developing a climate adaptation model that can be replicated in the country and in the region.
The project will be funded with 2.4 million dollars resources through a donation from the Adaptation Fund, benefiting 74 thousand people in the influence zone.
