The Development Bank of Latin America (CAF) will invest 25 billion dollars over the next five years with the aim of encouraging climate action in the region. This involves the issuing of green bonds, sustainable funds and strategic alliances that allow for the promotion of coordinated work between governments, civil society, international organisations, NGOs and the private sector.

The multilateral organisation proposes a green strategy that also promotes climate action, biodiversity conservation, energy transition and nature-based solutions. It also plans to strengthen the mobilisation of third-party funding sources.

In addition, it will build a platform for mobilising climate and environmental funds that will make it possible to mobilise at least USD 1.5 billion in concessional finance for the region between 2021 and 2026.
