China and Brazil explore green investment opportunities in sustainable agriculture

The China-Brazil Business Council (CEBC), the Institute of Finance and Sustainability (IFS), China Chamber of Commerce of Import & Export of Foodstuffs, Native Produce & Animal By-Products (CFNA), with support from Climate Bonds Initiative (CBI) and the Global Environment Institute (GEI), hosted the event “China-Brazil Cooperation Dialogue on Sustainable Agriculture Business and Green Finance” in late March 2023.

Nearly 50 guests from Chinese and Brazilian financial institutions, research institutes, industry associations, and trading companies attended the conference to conduct in-depth discussions on investment opportunities for sustainable agriculture and green agricultural standards in China and Brazil. Brazil is advancing industry transition to promote biodiversity and encourage investments from Chinese companies, to participate in Brazilian social and energy transition. As a reference, the trade in agricultural products between China and Brazil reached 53 billion dollars in year 2022.
