Climate Bonds Initiative publishes latest report on the Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) market
11/08/2021 Since 3 years
Climate Bonds Initiative has just published the “State of the Market in Latin America and the Caribbean” report, which was supported by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC). The region set a record for green bond issuance in 2020 and is on track for similar figures in 2021. Green bond issuance grew from $13.6 billion in September 2019 to $30.2 billion at the end of June 2021, in less than two years. This development was mainly supported by sovereign issuance by the Republic of Chile ($3.8 billion) and by several issuers in Brazil ($2.5 billion).
