Colombia will boost urban sustainability and equity in Barranquilla with IDB support

Barranquilla, Colombia’s fourth largest city, will receive a loan of 100 million dollars and non-refundable financing of 6 million dollars from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) to contribute to the city’s urban equity and sustainability.
The objectives of this operation are to promote the sustainable use of strategic ecosystems, increase equitable access to public spaces with a focus on social inclusion, and help integrate migrants and vulnerable groups.
The loan has a 24.5-year repayment period, a 5.5-year grace period, and an interest rate based on the Secured Overnight Financing Rate (SOFR).
