The Government of Chile, through the Ministry of the Environment, has announced the Environmental Protection Fund (FPA), being the first national competitive fund to support environmental initiatives presented by citizens.
The available lines for application are divided into: i) Citizen Sustainable Projects; ii) Sustainable Projects in Educational Establishments; and iii) Sustainable Projects for Indigenous People. Eligible projects must cover one of the following topics: eco-hydric techniques; climate change and environmental decontamination; circular economy and waste management; biodiversity conservation; and water and energy efficiency. Funding will be up to nearly 7,000 dollars per initiative.
All projects must consider aspects of environmental education as a transversal pillar, with the aim that the beneficiary organization itself contributes to the generation of an environmental culture in the environment in which it is inserted.
