Guidelines on Amazon Themed Bonds
10/29/2024 Since 8 months
During the COP16 event held in Cali (Colombia), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the World Bank presented the core elements of the guidelines for capital markets instruments called Amazonia Bonds, that will enable the issuance of these bonds as a standardized and credible sub-label.
The so-called Amazonia Bonds will finance activities that have a positive impact on local communities, biodiversity, and zero deforestation efforts in the Amazon region. The new guidelines -which are built on existing ICMA Principles for Green, Social and Sustainability bonds- will outline project selection and evaluation criteria, measures to mitigate environmental and social risks, and indicators to report expected impact.
