IDB Invest Amazonia Forever 2024 Results

IDB Invest has published a brief report with the key results of the Amazonia Forever program during year 2024, where the volume of Amazonia transaction represented 15% of IDB Invest long term portfolio, with 455 million dollars of use of proceeds for Amazonia projects.

The success of the IDB Invest Amazonia Forever program is measured by i) Increasing financing and the number of projects towards thematic pillars in the Amazon region; ii) Building capacity and generate knowledge around new business models and practices; iii) Creating regional action networks with partners such as firms and investors.

Some of the largest IDB Invest deals closed in Amazonia in 2024 include: water and sanitation concession to Aguas de Manaus for 130 million dollars; an SMEs credit portfolio expansion project with Cresol for 50 million dollars; a bioeconomy sustainability-linked bond from Natura for 36 million dollars, among others.
