IDB Invest and JICA announce financing for Banco Solidario to support women entrepreneurs in Ecuador

Banco Solidario, a mid-sized Ecuadorian bank focused on microfinance, will receive 20 million dollars in financial support from IDB Invest and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to facilitate access to resources for women-led microenterprises in Ecuador.
The financing package consists of a senior loan of up to 10 million dollars from IDB Invest and a parallel loan of up to 10 million dollars from JICA. In addition, IDB Invest will support Banco Solidario in strengthening its credit impact collection and reporting by enhancing its information gathering and monitoring systems.
