IDB Invest and ResponsAbility support Royal America in its first green bond issuance

Royal America, a leading company in the development of electromobility in Chile, Colombia, and Ecuador, has completed the issuance of its first green bond for its subsidiaries in Chile and Colombia, aiming to modernize the logistics sector by financing electric machinery in strategic industries such as food, retail, agriculture, and industry, among others.

The placement, for a total amount of 26 million dollars with a seven-year term, is structured in two tranches: i) Tranche A of up to the equivalent of 16 million dollars in Chilean pesos, subscribed by IDB Invest as anchor investor and allocated to Royal America Chile; and ii) Tranche B of up to 10 million dollars contributed by the leading impact asset manager ResponsAbility as co-investor, to be allocated to Royal America Colombia.

In addition, IDB Invest has supported Royal America with technical advisory services for the development of its Reference Framework for the green bond issuance.
