IDB Invest boosts financing for small businesses in Argentina in partnership with Banco Supervielle

Banco Supervielle, a private financial institution from Argentina, will receive financial support for an amount close to 180 million dollars led by IDB Invest, with the aim of strengthening access to financing for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and stimulating employment generation and investment in Argentina.

The financial scheme consists of: i) a loan from IDB Invest for 50 million dollars, ii) another 50 million dollars loan from the JICA Trust Fund for the development of Latin America and the Caribbean (TADAC), and iii) a mobilization of about 80 million dollars through the sale of participations to investors.

The transaction will more effectively address the financing needs of SMEs in Argentina in response to business opportunities, focusing in strategic sectors such as agribusiness, renewable energy and technological services.

In addition, IDB Invest will support Banco Supervielle through technical advisory services in order to strengthen its sustainability strategy and financial health, including the analysis of financial products, training in sustainable finance, development of an internal taxonomy, portfolio analysis to identify climatic projects and the implementation of KPIs.
