IDB Invest, FinDev Canada, and FMO announce financing in Enertur to boost renewable energy in the Dominican Republic

Energía Turística S.A. (Enertur), a subsidiary of the InterEnergy Group in the Dominican Republic, will receive a loan package for 56.4 million dollars to finance the development of a solar photovoltaic power plant with an installed capacity of up to 78 MW, along with a 30 MWh battery energy storage system.
The financing scheme is comprised of equal contributions of 18.8 million dollars from IDB Invest, the Dutch Development Finance Institution (FMO) and the Canada’s bilateral Development Finance Institution (FinDev Canada).
Additionally, IDB Invest will support Enetur in deepening the participation of women in its workforce in technical and security roles, through materials and training sessions.
