IDB Invest funds San Cristóbal Campus to empower Guatemalan youth

Fundación Montesquieu, a Guatemalan educational institution and founder of the Universidad de Occidente, will receive a 37 million financing package from IDB Invest and other investors to support the development of the San Cristóbal Green Academic and Sports Campus (CSC) infrastructure project.

The project will contribute to the design, construction, and operation of a state-of-the-art academic and sports complex, while addressing significant development gaps and benefiting more than 13,000 young Guatemalans.

The financing package is funded by IDB Invest (18.7 million dollars), the Canadian Climate Fund for the Private Sector in the Americas – Phase II (C2F2) (7.5 million dollars), and resources mobilized by the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI).
