IDB Invest issues local currency bond in Paraguay to support sustainable development projects
IDB Invest has issued a 5-year bond denominated in Paraguayan guaraníes for approximately 12 million dollars in order to finance private sector through Banco Atlas (private financial entity belonging to the AZETA economic group). This transaction will allow Banco Atlas to create a new program focused on promoting long-term projects in the agricultural sector, with the objective of financing or refinancing investments that promote improvements in the sector’s productivity and sustainable development.
The placement was over-subscribed by 2.1x the original amount offered, with final allocations to 12 investors, among public and private pension funds, public and private entities, insurance companies and mutual funds.
The issuance contributes to the achievement of two Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in Paraguay: Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8) and Reduction of Inequalities (SDG 10).
