IDB Invest organized in Miami the sustainability week in Latin America and the Caribbean

The “Sustainability Week”, organized by IDB Invest, was recently held in Miami. The event brought together more than 300 leaders and experts in sustainability in the city of Miami, United States. The main topics covered were: climate action, sustainable value chains, digital transformation, just transition, financial innovation and small and island countries.

The event was attended by prominent business leaders such as Teresa Vernaglia, CEO of the Brazilian water and sanitation company BRK Ambiental; Joe Koechlin, CEO of the Peruvian ecotourism company Inkaterra; José-Antonio Crespo Barnetche, CEO of the healthcare company Farmalisto in Mexico, Colombia and Peru; Kara Hartnett Hurst, Vice President, Global Sustainability, Amazon; Mike Maura, CEO, Bahamas-based tourism company Nassau Cruise Port; and Charles Moser, Managing Director, Santander USA; Charles Moser, Managing Director, Santander USA; and Charles Moser, Managing Director, Santander USA. USA, who discussed issues related to ESG factors that shape the way companies do business and invest.

Leaders from international organizations included Yolanda Kakabadse, former President of WWF and IUCN, Selwin Hart, Special Advisor and Assistant Secretary-General for Climate Action at the United Nations, and youth leader Helena Gualinga, a young international advocate for climate justice and indigenous peoples’ rights.
