IDB Invest supports sustainable agricultural productivity in Mexico

Dinvertech, an agricultural producer specializing in greenhouse crops in Mexico, will receive a financing package led by IDB Invest, totaling up to 130 million dollars. These funds will be used to establish and operate 50 hectares of new, high-tech greenhouses for the cultivation and commercialization of mini-peppers. Therefore, the project will boost food production, increase agricultural productivity, and generate formal employment in rural areas of the country.

The financing package consists of: i) a long-term loan of up to 120 million dollars, of which 80 million dollars will be financed by IDB Invest and 40 million dollars by the JICA Trust Fund for Achieving Development in Latin America and the Caribbean (TADAC) (a fund administered by IDB Invest and established in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency); and ii) an uncommitted revolving credit facility of up to 10 million dollars.

In addition, IDB Invest will provide advisory services to Dinvertech to support the adoption of more efficient and sustainable technologies, particularly for modernizing existing heating systems.
