IDB launches 500 million Canadian dollars 5-year sustainable development bond

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) placed a new Sustainable Development Bond (SBD) in the London Stock Exchange (LSE) for an amount of 500 million Canadian dollars (CAD).
The SBD has a 5-year term maturing in March 2029 and pays a semi-annual coupon of 4.6%. The transaction marks IDB’s second SDB CAD benchmark issuance in year 2023.
The resources obtained will finance eligible projects under IDB’s Sustainable Development Bond Framework, including social inclusion and equity, productivity and innovation, economic integration, climate change and environmental sustainability, gender equality and diversity and institutional capacity and rule of law.
