IDB launches 750 million Canadian dollars 5-year Sustainable Development Bond
05/11/2023 Since 2 years
The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) completed the issuance of new Sustainable Development Bond (SDB) for an amount of CAD 400 million in the Canadian market, marking the return to the CAD market since June 2021.
The 5-year term SDB pays a semi-annual coupon of 3.40% and matures in May 2028. The issuance was over-demanded with final orders in excess of CAD 800 million with high participation from Banks/Bank Treasuries and Pension Funds/Insurance/Corp, showing strong reception for IDB’s third benchmark of year 2023 across all currencies, following a 2 billion US dollars 5-year SDB global benchmark in January 2023 and a GBP 400 million 7-year SDB benchmark in February 2023.
