IDB to help PPP projects to sustainably manage environmental assets in the Brazilian Amazon

06/11/2024 Since 5 months

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has announced a technical cooperation agreement with the Brazilian Forest Service (SFB) and the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) to support the structuring of public-private partnership (PPP) projects to sustainably manage subnational environmental assets in the Brazilian Amazon.

The cooperation will support the structuring of subnational PPP projects for forest conservation and the recovery of degraded areas, including profiling, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, and the drafting and structuring of tender documents and contracts. The Green Climate Fund (GCF) will finance the cooperation through a 1-million dollars non-refundable contribution, through the IDB’s Amazonia Forever program.
