IDB to Lead Haiti’s Medium-Term Recovery and Development Plan
The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Government of Haiti have announced the launch of a five-year (2025-2030) recovery and development plan for the country, with the objective of stimulating the country’s economy through private-sector-led growth, improving human capital, and strengthening institutions.
The IDB will coordinate the initiative in joint effort with the World Bank, the United Nations, and the European Union.
A medium-term development roadmap will be established, promoting alternative economic hubs (outside Port-au-Prince) to bolster growth and drive sustainable development. The plan is based on three main pillars: i) Stimulating economic development and strengthening the private sector for rapid, inclusive, and sustained growth; ii) Enhancing delivery of basic services and development of human capital; and iii) Improving institutional capacity, the rule of law, justice and security.
