IDB to scale annual climate finance to near 12 billion dollars by 2030
11/13/2024 Since 4 weeks
The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and its private sector arm, IDB Invest, have decided to increase their annual commitment to climate finance to 11.3 billion dollars by year 2030, and to mobilize another 6.6 billion dollars from investors. This ambition includes 25 billion dollars in adaptation and dual-purpose financing in the 2024-2030 period.
In addition to financing, IDB and IDB Invest work to drive investment, job creation, and resilience across Latin America and the Caribbean through regional programs such as “Amazonia Forever”, “One Caribbean”, and “América en el Centro”, which integrate climate policies with biodiversity conservation.
