IDB Invest has published two updated documents related to the common principles and methodologies from the Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) in relation to tracking climate change mitigation and adaptation financing.

The first of the documents, updated with the MDBs’ experience in the 2021-2023 period, consists of a set of definitions and guidelines and a list of eligible activities that allow for consistent accounting and reporting of financial flows for climate change mitigation financing.

The second publication consists of an update of the MDBs’ joint methodology which seeks to identify the links between adaptation activities and the project’s explicit intention to reduce vulnerability to climate change. The update, based on a review between 2021 and 2022, reflects the evolving understanding of adaptation and climate resilience and the advances made in the fields of adaptation financing.
