Ministry of Economy of Brazil and CBI sign a MoU to strengthen the Sustainable Finance agenda in the country

The Climate Bonds Initiative (CBI) and the Brazilian Ministry of Economy signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the aim of making Brazilian exports more competitive by disclosure of sustainable best practices for financing Brazilian foreign trade.
Among the activities pre-established in the Memorandum are: the qualification of new sustainable financing through green or transition bonds; the analysis and proposal of recommendations to improve public and private financing instruments; and trainings in sustainable finance. The main sectors of the economy to be benefited would be agriculture, forestry, transportation and bioenergy.
