Omega Geracao of Brazil raises 191 million dollars in green bond issuance
03/22/2021 Since 3 years
In its third bond issuance, the Brazilian energy company Omega Geracao raised 191 million dollars. The issuance was certified as a green bond by local specialised consultancy Resultante, Research e Consultoria, while the BTG Pactual bank acted as the coordinator placing the issuance. The company issued over one million simple, non-stock-convertible and unsecured debentures in a single tranche, with an eight-year term.
The proceeds will be used to pay off the debt acquired from the existing project Chui wind complex of 582.8 MW installed capacity -acquired in December 2020-, and will also increase Omega’s cash and working capital.
