Pampa Energia from Argentina issues its first green bond to finance new investments in wind energy
01/13/2022 Since 2 years

Pampa Energia, the largest integrated independent energy company in Argentina, issued a green bond in Argentinean pesos for an amount equivalent to nearly 30 million dollars, with the aim of financing part of the expansion of one of its wind farms. It is the company’s first green bond that reflects the commitment to finance projects with a positive impact on the environment and to diversify the country’s energy matrix.

The company will invest more than 120 million dollars in the expansion of the Pampa Energia III Wind Farm, increasing its capacity by 81 MW. Once the works are completed, the farm will contribute 134.2 MW of renewable energy to the national system.

Investors will receive a variable rate Badlar +2%, with quarterly payments and bullet capital amortization, with a maturity date by July 2023. The issuance was recognized by Fix Ratings, an affiliate of Fitch Ratings, with a rating of Green Bond (BV1), as it is aligned with the four main components of ICMA’s Green Bond Principles (GBP).

The bond will integrate the Panel of Social, Green and Sustainable Bonds of BYMA Stock exchange. The Panel was launched by BYMA as part of its ESG developments.
