DEG, the development finance institution and subsidiary of the German KfW Group, will join the Amazon Financial Network (AFN) as a new member (the 48th member of the network).
The AFN was launched during the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28 in Dubai) as a joint initiative between IDB Invest and IFC (from the World Bank Group). The Network is part of the IDB’s Amazonia Forever Program.
The alliance will reinforce the institutions’ commitment to responsible economic growth and the promotion of opportunities in strategic regions, such as the Amazon region.
