The IDB and the World Bank join forces to maximize development impact across Latin America and the Caribbean
08/31/2023 Since 1 year
The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the World Bank announced a four-year partnership that will boost support for net-zero-deforestation efforts in the Amazon, strengthen the Caribbean’s resilience to natural disasters, and bridge the digital-access gap, across Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC).
In addition, IDB Invest -the private sector arm of the IDB Group- and MIGA -the political risk insurance arm of the World Bank- have agreed to collaborate to mitigate the political risk in the region. The two agencies will work together with the World Bank’s International Finance Corporation (IFC) to attract more private sector investment to the LAC region.
