The study analyzes the economic value and importance of biodiversity for the Amazon region, in particular for the economy of the state of Pará and presents recommendations for the implementation of public policies aimed at developing a bioeconomy based on the preservation of native forest and biodiversity in the region. The results of the study show that support for biodiversity products aligned with the conservation of the Amazon forest benefits the socioeconomic development of Amazonian states and represents a unique opportunity for a sustainable development model for the Amazon forest that reconciles environmental conservation and income generation for local populations.
