Promoting an Inclusive Infrastructure Sector: Practical Actions for the Private Sector in Latin America and the Caribbean

IDB Invest has published a document that present the reasons for the private infrastructure sector to proactively address gender equality. The infrastructure sector is essential to the economic revitalization of the region and offers great potential for an inclusive recovery that promotes equal opportunities for women.

The document provides concrete examples of companies in the region that have adopted gender equality practices, including: the natural gas distributor Cálidda (Peru), the power generation firm Central Puerto (Argentina), the water and sanitation company Essbio (Chile ), the energy sector firm Enel (Colombia) and the renewable energy company Atlas Renewable Energy. Finally, authors describe a series of learnings and recommendations.
