IDB launches Australian Dollar Sustainable Development Bond for Meiji Yasuda
07/31/2023 Since 10 months
The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) issued a 15-year fixed rate Sustainable Development Bond (SDB) in the Australian market for an amount equivalent to 105 million US dollars (or 160 million Australian dollars). The Japanese insurance firm Meiji Yasuda was the sole investor of the bond.
The use of proceeds is aligned with the IDB’s strategic priorities to reduce poverty and inequalities in the Latin America and the Caribbean region by promoting economic and social development in a sustainable and climate friendly way. With this bond the IDB raises awareness for the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) number 3 – Good Health and Well-Being, including projects supporting health care networks.
