Brazil launches credit line for residential renewable energy and energy efficiency in companies
11/08/2021 Since 3 years

The Brazilian government will finance, through the Caixa Econômica Federal, four lines of credit for companies, individuals and agribusinesses for projects that promote the use of renewable energy, the reduction of inputs, waste and greenhouse gas emissions.

The Caixa Renewable Energy personal loan seeks to finance photovoltaic energy generation systems and their installation costs in homes, with interest rates starting at 1.17%. Financing can be up to 100% of the project with a term of up to 60 months, and with a grace period of up to six months for the maturity of the first instalment. The personal loan will be offered in two forms: unsecured or secured by fixed-income financial investments.

The Ecoefficiency credit line for companies finances the purchase of machinery that promotes energy efficiency and cleaner production, up to 100% of the value of the asset purchased. The customer has a grace period of up to six months and up to 54 months for repayment, which adds up to 60 months to pay off the loan.

The bank also offers two specific lines for agribusinesses focusing on technologies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and actions to help them adapt to climate change.
