The Development Bank of Latin America (CAF) begins 2022 with the issuance of a green bond in the Swiss market. The objective is to support projects that represent a contribution against global warming. The funds will be used to finance clean mass-transportation, renewable energy, and biodiversity protection projects, among others.

The bond issued in January 2022 for an amount in Swiss francs equivalent to 382 million dollars was placed by Credit Suisse and Deutsche Bank, with a maturity of 5 years and a coupon of 0.45%. The issuance is covered by the Term SOFR financial indicator, in accordance with the plan established by the Institution to substitute the Libor rate.
