Corporación El Rosado de Ecuador, a business group whose lines of business include supermarkets, real estate, entertainment, and restaurants, has obtained nearly US$25 million in financing from IDB Invest.

The funds will be used to finance the company’s capital investment plan that seeks to increase productivity and logistical efficiency, boost its geographic expansion, and implement energy efficiency and clean energy projects that will reduce CO2 emissions by 56,000 tons of CO2 equivalent by 2025. It will also support the creation of direct jobs, with an expected increase of more than 850 people over the life of the loan, and help strengthen El Rosado’s value chain.

IDB Invest will also advise the company on strengthening its corporate governance and social and environmental management system.
