Mexico City will support the installation of photovoltaic systems in MSMEs
03/24/2022 Since 2 years

The Secretariat of Economic Development (Sedeco) of Mexico City (CDMX), within the framework of the Institutional Action “Solar Energy for MSMEs 2022”, published an agreement establishing the guidelines for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) to receive financing to incorporate solar water heating and photovoltaic systems. The objective is to promote the energy transition of MSMEs in Mexico City.

The project has a budget of US$175,000 and the target population will be all individuals with business activity and legal entities stratified as MSMEs whose economic activity corresponds to the service, commerce or industry sectors and with high electricity or gas consumption.

The integration of solar electricity generation systems in MSMEs will reduce the demand for electricity consumed from the grid and will reduce the payment of bills to the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE). Payback times for the total investment are estimated to be between four and six years, while the useful life of these systems is more than 20 years.
