Sustainable construction in Cali, Colombia
09/01/2022 Since 2 years

The “Sustainable Construction Handbook for Cali” was presented in Colombia. Cali is one of the largest Colombian cities, showing high growth in recent years. The project aims to encourage and implement sustainable environmental construction practices that allow mitigating and adapting to climate change.

The Handbook has been designed by the Javeriana University, the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the Sustainable Construction Council. It comprises 120 sustainability criteria seeking new buildings to achieve lower carbon emissions, savings on water and energy and therefore lower environment impact. The Handbook includes six categories, also a seal that grants different benefits including tax, urban, administrative, among others.
