FIDE Trust of Mexico grants energy incentive to MSMEs
05/25/2023 Since 1 year

The Mexican Trust Fund for Electric Energy Savings (FIDE) defines energy efficiency as a key tool for the energy transition, therefore it must be accompanied by financing mechanisms that allow users to replace electrical appliances and equipment with new ones with higher energy efficiency, in order to save energy or achieve self-generation and avoid emissions into the environment.

Under this concept, it has created the “Eco-Crédito Empresarial” program, aimed at owners of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), as well as the agricultural sector, to acquire equipment that reduces energy consumption. The program operated by FIDE with the support of the Secretariat of Energy (SENER), the Secretariat of Economy, National Finance (NAFIN) and the CFE, is part of the National Energy Strategy 2013-2027, led by SENER, which has the objective to promote energy efficiency and sustainability, as well as saving and optimal use of energy.

SENER grants an energy incentive of 10% (non-refundable) for the replacement of equipment or installation of photovoltaic systems, achieving savings of more than 50% in electricity billing (depending on the technology).
