Chile will receive a loan of 400 million dollars from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) to support the development of the green hydrogen industry and its derivatives. The resources will be used to finance new projects in green hydrogen, local demand development, human capital formation, creation of intermediate goods and services that facilitate the industry development, applied research financing, development and technological innovation, and promotion of entrepreneurship in this sector.

The loan approved by is the second credit operation under the 1 billion dollars Conditional Credit Line for Investment Projects (CCLIP) for productivity and sustainable development in Chile. It has a repayment term of 24 years, a 6.5-year grace period, and an interest rate based on the Secured Overnight Financing Rate (SOFR).
