“Desenvolve SP” agency, linked to the Government of the State of São Paulo (Brazil), has published its Sustainable Financing Framework, with the support of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

The new framework considers investments already disbursed or new financing in the public and private spheres, that generate social and environmental benefits in different sectors of the São Paulo economy, as eligible for sustainable financing. Therefore, Desenvolve SP will be able to expand its available sources to finance initiatives that make viable, for example, investments in micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (Mipyimes), in renewable energy, in clean transportation and in support of enterprises led by women, youth and Afro-descendants.

IDB and Desenvolve SP have already worked together in the past, such as the financing of 195 million dollars for investments in innovation and productivity of MSMEs, and the development of a carbon footprint calculator.
