Brazil’s Sicredi issues green bond to fund renewable energy projects

Sicredi, a private cooperative bank in Brazil, together with IDB Invest, issued its first green bond for an amount of USD 100 million. The operation is certified by the Norwegian consulting firm CICERO Shades of Green and has specific criteria for selecting the projects to be financed.
The funds raised will be used to finance new energy efficiency and photovoltaic projects.
