The IADB financed a record 4.5 billion in climate change activities

The Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) financed a record $4.5 billion in climate change-related activities, according to the IDB’s 2021 Sustainability Report. These resources, which represent 30% of the Bank’s total annual approvals, benefit the region through loans, grants, technical cooperation, guarantees and equity investments.
The report showcases the IDB’s distinctive integrated approach to sustainability with respect to its governance, strategy, policy and project cycle, cutting-edge climate action focused on job creation and socioeconomic benefits, disaster risk management and resilience, biodiversity, and innovative financing tools geared toward gender inclusion and diversity.
