Latin America and the Caribbean Climate Week 2022 was recently held in the Dominican Republic. The event was organized by UN Climate Change, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program, the United Nations Program for Environment, the World Bank Group and the Government of the Dominican Republic as host.

The goal of the forum is to engage and empower stakeholders in the public sector, private sector and civil society to drive climate action. The meeting includes more than a hundred panels that explore relevant issues in the private sector field, such as resilience to climate risks, the transition to a low-emissions economy, and alliances to solve the most urgent challenges in the region.

The Inter-American Development Bank, IDB Invest and IDB Lab (IDB Group) organized a panel on Financial Innovation to Combat Climate Change in order to socialize the importance of climate investment for the region. The panel was attended by prominent exponents from the region, who shared their experiences with climate investments in their respective countries, and highlighted challenges and opportunities.
