The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) approved a 15-million-dollar loan and a non-reimbursable financing for investment of up to 800 thousand dollars to support the “Sustainable and Inclusive Belize” project.
The objective of this project is to increase income in the agriculture and tourism sectors. The tourism sector contributes with 39% of Belize’s GDP, while agriculture accounts for 10% of GDP. The financing will allow to boost competitiveness, climate resilience, and environmental sustainability of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises in both sectors.
