IDB Invest and FinDev Canada to help strengthen Banco de Occidente’s regulatory capital in Colombia

Banco de Occidente from Colombia has received two parallel subordinated loans for a total of 100 million dollars with a 10-year term to strengthen its regulatory capital. IDB Invest contributed with 70 million dollars, meanwhile the development financial institution FinDev Canada the remaining 30 million dollars.
The deal, will support the growth strategy of the SMEs portfolio, and will consolidate this segment as a priority in new financing of working capital, capital expenditures and fixed assets. IDB Invest will also provide Banco de Occidente with advisory services in order to support the design and implementation of its sustainable financing strategy.
